This photo is of a heron moments before taking off. A lucky shot which makes a decent desktop wallpaper. Taken whilst trying out a Tamron 70-200mm lens on a Nikon D80 digital camera. In Southampton Common there are a number of ponds which attract wildlife, so it's a good location to practice photography.
